BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The arraignment of a reputed leader in the New England mob on loansharking, extortion and conspiracy charges has been postponed after some confusion over where he was being held.
Mark Rossetti, a reputed capo in the mob, is accused of running a criminal network involved in drug trafficking, gambling, loan sharking and other crimes.
Rossetti, of East Boston, was scheduled to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court Monday, but the hearing was postponed until Dec. 1 because Rossetti was not brought to the courthouse by county sheriffs.
A prosecutor said there was some confusion because Rossetti is listed as an Essex County prisoner, but is being held in Worcester.
The Boston man and 30 alleged associates were charged last month after what authorities said was a yearlong investigation.
This information was supplied by law enforcement. All persons are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
