Patriots fans say they're glad Kraft backed Tom Brady

NATICK, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) - "It's about time." that's the reaction from patriots fans to Kraft's about-face on his decision to accept the NFL's punishment.

The pats fans we spoke with say this was the message they wanted to hear from Bob Kraft, that Tom Brady has his complete support.

"He absolutely should,” Sara Levesque said.

Wednesday, patriots owner Robert Kraft did.

"Given the facts, evidence and laws of science that underscore this entire situation, it is completely incomprehensible to me that the league continues to take steps to disparage one of its all-time great players and a man for whom I have the utmost respect,” Kraft said.

In a surprise appearance at Gillette Stadium, Kraft stood behind his star QB and did an about face on his decision to accept the NFL's punishment in May.

"I mean it's too bad that he gave up what he did,” Peggy Hitner said.

It cost the team $1-million and two draft picks.

"It sounded like, he did something for them and they just screwed him,” Hitner said.

"I think he was shafted by the fact that he went before the commissioner. And there was sort of an understanding there. I think that Goodell turned his back on him,” Ed Sloper said.

So Kraft stepped up, apologized to the fans and restated his support for Brady.

“I think he's a great quarterback. They really never proved anything,” Sloper said.

Patriots Nation knows that the rest of the country is piling on their star QB.
