BOSTON -- Amy Ryan, the outgoing president of the Boston Public Library, is eligible to receive almost $10,000 in vacation time as long as she doesn't use any before she leaves her job on July 3rd.
FOX25's Sharman Sacchetti made inquiries and a BPL spokeswoman confirmed that Ryan does not qualify for sick time conversion cash out or a pension. If she doesn't use any vacation time before July 3, her cash out will be a total of $9,905.77.
Ryan stepped down Wednesday amid controversy over two works of art done by Albrecht Durer and Rembrandt, which reportedly went missing. Her resignation came hours after a board of trustees meeting held at the request of Mayor Marty Walsh.
On Thursday, Ryan announced the art had been found inside the library, just 80 feet away from where it should have been filed. On Wednesday, Ryan told FOX25 the library is also looking into missing sheet music from a manuscript and investigating the disappearance of gold coins. She says both of those are believed to have happened before she started her position in 2008.
Ryan makes more than $180,000 a year in salary.
