FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (
MyFoxBoston.com / AP) - Roughly a couple hundred New England Patriots fans turned out for a rally in support of their beloved quarterback Tom Brady.
A recently-created Facebook page organized the "Free Tom Brady" rally, in response to the Super Bowl MVP's four-game suspension by the NFL for his role in the 'Deflategate' scandal.
"There's no way Tom asked for deflated footballs," said Pablo Munoz, the rally's organizer. "He does not need that. He's a champion."
Although Munoz was expecting 600 people to show up for Sunday's rally, only a couple hundred showed up, but they were enthusiastic supporters. Many wore Tom Brady jerseys, also bringing Brady posters and signs of support. Some Pats fans also brought signs jeering NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
"It's a very serious suspension for a very minimal crime. if it even happened," said Pats fan Nick Wright.
One couple said they would not go on their honeymoon until Brady's suspension was lifted.
"We love our quarterback. We love our Patriots and that's just the way it is," newlywed Paul Goodrow said.
The rally took place at Patriot Place Parking Lot 4 for a couple hours Sunday, and as soon as the free pizza began to dwindle, so did the crowd.
