BOSTON (
MyFoxBoston.com) -- It was an emotional first full day in court on Thursday during the trial of Edwin Alemany, the man accused of kidnapping and killing Amy Lord, a native of Wilbraham in western Massachusetts who was living and working in Boston.
Prosecutors say Alemany, 30, went on a deliberate spree of violence against women on a July day almost two years ago that included kidnapping Lord from South Boston and killing her. Her body was found in a city park in Hyde Park.
Opening statements in the case began Wednesday, and testimony started Thursday morning.
On the morning he allegedly kidnapped and killed Lord, a woman testified that he tried to attack her, telling her "know that you are going to die today."
She managed to escape.
Some of Lord's friend also testified about trying to find her on the day she was kidnapped, and another man, Edward Landry, described biking through Stony Brook Reservation and finding Lord's naked body. The 911 call he placed was played in court.
On Friday, jurors were set to go on a site visit to all of the crime scenes in the case.
