BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- As marathon survivors and their loved ones continue to heal, and as we look back and remember the victims, take a look at some survivors stepping back on the finish line for the very first time after the explosions that changed their lives.

Photographer Robert X. Fogarty called this project "Dear World" and it featured portraits with messages on the skin of those posing. The survivors chose their own messages, according to Runner's World, where the photos originally appeared last year.
