BOSTON (
MyFoxBoston.com) -- Governor Charlie Baker says he is installing Wi-Fi at the State House.
The Governor made the announcement at the LiveWorx 2015 Conference at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
Governor Baker did not say how much it would cost to install and maintain, but he did say during a meeting of the nation's governors, that leaders from other states poked fun at Massachusetts for not having Wi-Fi available.
The governor says he talked with legislators about it, and they told him they use Suffolk University's Wi-Fi.
A spokesman for the Governor, Tim Buckley, tells FOX25 they are still in the early stages of planning. The initiative is a joint effort by the legislature, and $5 million was set aside for costs associated to improve wireless Internet accessibility at the State House.
The money was approved in bond bill signed in August, 2014.
