BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) - The Government rested its case on Thursday in the penalty phase of the Tsarnaev trial.

Earlier on Thursday, jurors heard from victims of the Boston Marathon bombing who described their injuries and the brutality of the event.

More victims testified on Wednesday, the second day of the penalty phase of bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's trial.

Among them was Adrianne Haslet-Davis, a professional ballroom dancer whose leg had to be amputated below the knee.

A surrogate aunt of Lingzi Lu, a Boston University graduate student from China who was killed, called her "a beautiful nerd."

Prosecutors say Tsarnaev deserves the death penalty. His lawyers say his life should be spared because his brother was the mastermind of the 2013 attack.

The defense will present its case on Monday.
