BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- State Representative Shaunna O'Connell tells FOX25 she had a tough time getting information from the MBTA when she made a simple request about travel expenses for their workers.
O'Connell said she asked how they reimburse among other things, but simply didn't get the answer.
"How do they reimburse? How do they allocate? And rather than sending me the numbers, that I was looking for, they just sent me their policy. So now we're going to go back and make another request," she said.
In the coming weeks, O'Connell is also filing a bill to ask for information on the T's pension fund to be made public. She just sent a letter to the governor about it.
Weeks ago, FOX Undercover asked for just 5 days of emails for two people, and the T tried charging FOX25 $15,000!
FOX25 Political Reporter asked the governor about it.
"Well this is the first I've heard of it," Governor Charlie Baker said. "I will ask about this when I get back to the office."
Sacchetti also got in touch with the T about it.
In a statement, the MBTA maintains it's one of the most transparent public transportation agencies in the country, that for years has been posting payroll and financial documents on its website and open checkbook, and further say they welcome any scrutiny of its public records.
Baker told FOX25 he believes the pension fund is "nowhere near transparent enough."
He went on to say he agrees overall transparency is something to look at.
"Since there's a billion dollars' worth of general fund money that goes every year into financing the T's operations, it's probably worth thinking about the T a little differently," Baker said.
Outgoing MBTA General Manager Beverly Scott's last day is April 11.
Sacchetti asked the MBTA for Scott's payout and benefits information, but is still waiting to hear back.
Baker is expecting to release information about what his special panel found in 10 days.
