FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - The lawyer for a Florida man who bought a .22-caliber weapon found in the woods near Aaron Hernandez's home says his client has been granted immunity in the former New England Patriots player's murder trial.

Michael Bourbeau said after a closed-door hearing Monday that Gion Jackson was granted immunity by Superior Court Judge Susan Garsh and will testify.

A hardware store employee testified earlier Monday that Jackson bought the gun April 16, 2013, a few days after Hernandez sent $15,000 to a friend of Jackson's.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

Prosecutors say the weapon used to kill Lloyd was a .45-caliber Glock and has never been found.
