FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - Prosecutors say Aaron Hernandez's DNA on a marijuana cigarette shared with the friend they say the ex-NFL star murdered is compelling forensic evidence of the crime.

Jurors are set to hear more testimony Friday in the case against Hernandez, a day after the trial started with opening statements. Lawyers for the former New England Patriots standout portrayed him as a man "with the world at his feet" and no reason to kill.

Hernandez's ex-teammates play this weekend in the Super Bowl. In 2012, Hernandez caught Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's last Super Bowl touchdown pass. A year later, he was charged in the shooting death of semipro football player Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancée at the time.

Hernandez could get life in prison if convicted.
