BOSTON (
MyFoxBoston.com) -- Defense lawyers for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev made a third push to move his trial out of state Thursday.
Just before jurors were questioned, Tsarnaev's lawyers renewed their bid for a change of venue for the trial. The defense team cites a large number of prospective jurors who believe Tsarnaev is guilty.
Nearly 1,300 prospective jurors filled out questionnaires. The defense said 68 percent believe Tsarnaev is guilty and up to 69 percent have a connection to either people or events in the case.
Eleven jurors were questioned Thursday. Each of them asked their personal views on the death penalty and recent terrorist events in Paris. Juror No. 118 told Judge George O'Toole she doesn't like the idea that someone's fate would rest on her. Juror No. 116 told Judge O'Toole she knows Tsarnaev is guilty because she saw media coverage of him being found in a boat.
Former federal and state prosecutor Brad Bailey said it's going to tough trying to pick a jury for this trial.
"This is a death case; this is a case where the pre-trial publicity was a saturation level. I'm not surprised at the least they are not ready with a jury selected by now," Bailey said.
Court officials also said that opening statements would not be heard as expected on Monday because jury selection is taking longer than anticipated.
