FALL RIVER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- It's more than an hour from Dorchester to Fall River, but distance is not a factor for Ursula Ward when it comes to justice for her son. Ward is Odin Lloyd's mother.

And she is closely watching as both sides carefully select a jury, a process that continued this week with some candidates moving on and some going home.

Adam Moreira's impression of defendant Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriots tight end, was that he's lost weight.

"He's much skinnier now, that's for sure," he said.

Moreira, who is from Dartmouth, stood only feet from the former Patriot before he was excused for good.

"I'm a patriots fan, O would like to believe he would be innocent but, you know, it's up to the hearings and the facts of the case whether that's going to be fact or fiction," he said.

Davell Thomas from New Bedford was also sent home, and he's not complaining.

"I'm relieved I got excused because I can tell this is probably going to be a long process, and I'm a working man, and I have my son I take care of," he said.
