BOSTON (AP) - Governor-elect Charlie Baker has named Steven Kadish, a top administrator at Northeastern University, to serve as chief of staff in the new administration.
Baker made the announcement Monday, citing Kadish's experience in state government, health care and higher education.
Kadish is Northeastern's senior vice president and chief financial officer. He was the state's undersecretary of health and human services during the administration of Republican Gov. Mitt Romney
Kadish has also been director of global health equity at Brigham and Women's Hospital and was an executive at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, a position in which he worked under Baker.
Earlier Monday, the governor-elect named Republican state Rep. Matthew Beaton of Shrewsbury to serve as Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs in the new administration.
Baker takes office on Jan. 8.
