(
MyFoxBoston.com) -- The court has denied a motion to move Aaron Hernandez's case out of Bristol County.
The defense team of Hernandez filed a motion to move the trial "outside the boundaries of the Boston media market, such as Hampden or Worcester County" on the grounds that the former Patriots play will not be able to get a fair trial in Bristol County due to the negative publicity surrounding the case.
The court denied the motion, saying that no actual prejudice had been shown and that the negative publicity was not enough evidence.
Hernandez's team relied upon two telephone polls taken by Bristol County residents which the defense claimed to be evidence of the community members' negative perception of Hernandez in the case. The court held that the polls fall short of providing a "solid foundation of fact."
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the 2013 shooting death of Odin Lloyd, a Boston semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.
