HARWICHPORT (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Police are investigating break-ins at 19 summer homes and attempted burglaries at two others in Harwichport.

This morning a year round resident out for a walk noticed an open door at one of the seasonal homes and called police.

Bob McGuire says the burglars stole three flat screen TVs from his house on Edgewood Road.
He tells FOX25’s Sharman Sacchetti, "They'd broken into one back door, one door above the garage and they smashed the windows. Then inside the house, they smashed a French Door window to get into the regular house."

In total, police say ten flat screen TVs have been stolen. They say the burglars made their way inside the homes by smashing windows or kicking in back doors. They also trashed rooms in some of them. "A lot of them they were ransacked," said Officer Aram Goshgarian. "The kitchens, the bedrooms, turned stuff upside down. It almost looked like vandalism on the inside."

Neighbors say people here keep an eye out for each other, but it was windy last night. That's likely why year round residents didn't hear any glass breaking. Police want anyone who saw anything suspicious overnight to contact them.

Mcguire says he will install an alarm system.

He has a message for the people who stole from him: "I’d love to catch them."
