WOBURN (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Two inmates at the Middlesex County jail in Cambridge have pleaded guilty in connection with a disturbance at the facility that led to extensive flooding and hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
Prosecutors say David Agneta and Justin Deprospo pleaded guilty on Thursday in Superior Court to charges including malicious destruction of property and assault on guards.
Agneta got three years to be served at the end of his current term, while Deprospo got a year to be served at the conclusion of his current sentence.
Authorities say inmates broke the sprinkler system on the jail's 18th floor in July 2009, causing flooding, evacuations and forcing a power shutoff. The disturbance erupted after 15 inmates were sent to hospitals with flu-like symptoms.
A third inmate, Stephen Andrade, pleaded guilty in August.
