WELLESLEY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Wellesley Police arrested an 18-year-old man on Thursday and confiscated a gun from the Mass Bay College campus.
Darryl Max Dookhran, a student at Mass Bay College, was arrested on firearms charges after a witness told police they say Dookhran, of Dorchester, carrying a gun at the college.
Detectives conducted an investigation into Dookhran and approached him and brought him to a room for questioning. When police tried to pat him down, Dookhran backed against a wall and resisted by violently kicking, according to a statement from Wellesley police.
Detectives found a TEC-9 in Dookhran's backpack. The firearm, manufactured by Intratec, is a semi-automatic weapon chambered in nine millimeter. It was loaded with an 18-round magazine and had a round in the chamber.
Dookhran was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon to wit a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm on school grounds, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, felon in possession of a firearm, knowingly resisting arrest and as a disorderly person.
Dookhran is being held at Wellesley Police Headquarters on $10,000 cash bail pending his arraignment at Dedham District Court on Friday.
