WOBURN - Trial is set to begin in the case of a former Massachusetts gymnastics coach accused of lying to a grand jury investigating the rape of a teenage student and molestation of another in the 1990s.
Fifty-three-year-old Stephen DiTullio of Littleton is scheduled to go on trial in the Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on Friday.
It comes more than eight months after Steven Infante of Milford, Conn., was sentenced to eight to 10 years in prison for raping one of his students - beginning when she was 14 - and molesting another.
Infante is the former owner of Olympia Gymnastics in Brookfield, Conn.
DiTullio was indicted along with Infante on a charge of perjury. Prosecutors said he lied to a grand jury when he denied any knowledge of alcohol being provided to the teenagers.
