WOBURN (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Stoneham man accused of seriously injuring his infant son by shaking him has pleaded not guilty in connection to the boy's death eight years later.
Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said that 41-year-old Brian Saucier was arraigned Friday a Middlesex Superior Court on one count of murder. Saucier, who is serving a 9- to 10-year prison sentence for assault of the boy, was ordered held without bail.
Prosecutors say Stoneham police found Saucier holding his then 6-week-old son in September 2002. The baby had stopped breathing and was later diagnosed with shaken baby syndrome. The boy lived in a "vegetative state" with his mother until he died in May.
His attorney declined to comment after Saucier's arraignment.
