STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (MyFoxBoston.com) - A homeless man in State College, Pennsylvania, is making headlines after he found a purse with $400 inside and returned it to a woman with cancer.

According to The Associated Press, the 32-year-old man, whose name was not given, was on his way to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting when he saw the bag on a bench in Friedman Park.

"I don't have anything in my pockets right now," the man, a former Boston resident, told WJAC-TV. Even so, his belief in God led him to track down the purse's rightful owner, he said. After he looked inside and found the money and a public-assistance debit card, he contacted a homeless shelter, which helped him find the owner – a single mom fighting brain cancer.

"It actually broke me down a little bit," he said.

According to WJAC, the man met the woman Thursday. The woman said she was grateful and that her whole life is in that purse.
