BOSTON (AP) - Former Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis is among the new appointments to the American Gaming Association's national advisory board on illegal gambling.
Under the new role, Davis will help provide advice to law enforcement on how to prevent illegal gambling through public awareness and other strategies.
The industry group's new advisory board met for the first time earlier this week in Washington, D.C.
Other members include Tim Murphy, a former deputy director of the FBI, and J.B. Van Hollen, a former Wisconsin State attorney general, U.S. attorney and district attorney.
Davis led the Boston Police Department from 2006 to 2013.
