PEABODY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A missing dog was found among the remains of a Peabody house fire Thursday.
Joan Mahoney made a plea for the safe return of her dog Spike Wednesday after the fire earlier this month. Her boyfriend is hospitalized, in a medially induced coma in the hospital, recovering from second and third degree burns.
"I know he's out there," she said Wednesday, thinking that Spike had taken off given all the commotion during the fire.
After the Peabody house fire on June 6, Joan says fire officials told her that they didn't find any dog remains inside the home. However, on Thursday, a source told FOX25 that Spike's remains were found in a bedroom while it was being cleaned.
