Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) - A new report from MarketWatch lists Boston as one of the top three most expensive cities to hire a baby sitter.

According to research from Care.com, the average pay for baby sitters in Boston is $15.37 an hour, the only cities more expensive were San Francisco ($16.65/hour) and San Jose ($15.63/hour).

Boston's rate is more than $1 higher than Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Hartford. The geographically closest city to Boston was Providence, Rhode Island where baby sitters make almost $2 an hour less than Boston baby sitters.

This means baby sitters are making $5 more than minimum wage in Boston, which is currently at $9 an hour.

Furthermore, the Care.com survey found that more parents are seeking baby sitters with first aid and CPR training, a more expensive set of skills.
