BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man waiving a knife was arrested Tuesday after allegedly daring officers to shoot him and threatening passengers on an MBTA bus.
MBTA Transit Police Lt. Richard Sullivan told the Boston Herald that the man was "challenging officers to kill him" Tuesday afternoon after threatening MBTA passengers.
Sullivan went on to say, "He was brandishing a knife in a very threatening manner and at one point he actually threw the knife at one of the officers - thank God he missed. These officers showed tremendous restraint in how they handled this call."
SkyFOX flew over the scene near the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Babson Street just after 2 p.m. Police say when they first responded to the call, they found a man laying in the road without his shirt on. The 57-year-old Roxbury man was eventually arrested by officers.
He will be arraigned Wednesday morning on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.
