Investigation into RI home with possible connection to terror plot continues

Posted: Updated:

WARWICK, Rhode Island (MyFoxBoston.com) -- FOX25 was in Rhode Island Tuesday where questions still linger about the alleged connection between the terror investigation that led to a suspect being shot in Roslindale and a home under close watch in Warwick.

For the first time we are seeing the mother of the man being watched by Rhode Island State Police as well as local and FBI agents. Neighbors say she's a single mother of two working at a near by grocery store to support her two sons.

"She's keeping it together, she's doing a pretty good job," a neighbor said.

It's been one week since officers have been watching the Warwick house on Aspinet Drive. They started closely monitoring it since 26-year-old Usaamah Rahim was shot and killed by Boston police. Investigators believe Rahim had ties to terrorism. And investigators have that house under surveillance.

Neighbor Rose Blaney said, "It's just kind of surreal to know that that was up there and we are here."

None of this makes sense to neighbor Sandi Cerrito, who lives directly next door and says the man in his mid 20's being watched suffers from disabilities.

"A couple of times I would pick him up from work. His mom see if I can do that because he has trouble walking," she said.

Neighbors just want answers from law enforcement officials because they're tired of seeing them on their street.
