WINDSOR, Vt. (AP) - A judge has granted an arrest warrant for a Vermont man suspected of shooting and killing his estranged girlfriend.
Police are seeking 27-year-old Jason Kendall of Windsor on a charge of second-degree homicide.
They said they believe he fled the scene of the Monday morning shooting in Windsor in a silver 1996 Honda Accord. Kendall was spotted Monday in the parking lot of a restaurant in Holyoke, according to MassLive. Police believe his car now has the Massachusetts license plate 842YM3.
Windsor police received a 911 call at about 7 a.m. Monday from a witness who reported hearing screams and gunshots near a location on Main Street.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Molly Helland, of Windsor. Helland, who had a child with Kendall, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Helland recently ended their relationship.
Kendal is possibly armed, police said, and considered dangerous.
