Multiple reports indicate the Boston College football team will open the 2016 season in Dublin, Ireland against Georgia Tech.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, ESPN and Irish website The 42 all point to news conferences scheduled for Thursday with plans to announce the matchup between the Eagles and Yellow Jackets. The game will reportedly be played at 7:30 a.m. EST on September 3, 2016 in Dublin's Aviva Stadium.

Boston College has previously played in Ireland. The Eagles played Army in the inaugural Emerald Isle Classic in 1988.  Four Division I college football games have been played in Ireland since, including the most recent matchup between Penn State and Central Florida in August, 2014.
