SUMMARY:  WFXT FOX25 is in search of a Director who consistently executes clean, fast-paced newscasts utilizing Sony ELC control room automation system.  The successful candidate must be able to direct and lead crew during formatted segments as well as unscripted breaking news inside newscasts and in extended coverage.  In addition, successful candidates must have an understanding of coverage on all platforms and are expected to help in all aspects of production.  Candidates should have at least 2 years of directing experience.  Prior experience as a technical director is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•    Block rundowns and code scripts.
•    Lead production crew and assign tasks as needed.  
•    Consult with Producer on production needs including implementation of graphics produced by Design Department.
•    Operate control room automation system during broadcast and ensure that changes in format make it on air cleanly.
•    Work with Engineering Department to troubleshoot and solve technical issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism or Communications preferred.   A minimum of 2 years professional experience directing local TV news is required.  Prior experience with control room automation systems is a plus.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of production. Must be well read on current affairs and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects.
