SUMMARY: WFXT FOX25 is in search of an Assistant Director who will work closely with directors to help execute clean, fast-paced newscasts. The successful candidate must be able to perform a variety of production tasks including (but not limited to) studio and audio setup/breakdown, automation coding and cueing live shots. Candidates should have at least 1 year of television production experience. Knowledge of control room automation systems is a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Setup microphones and IFBs for in studio talent.
• Prepare studio cameras and lighting for live broadcasts.
• Work with director to code scripts for control room automation.
• Cue live shot reporters and crews during broadcasts.
• Keep track of segment and break times.
• Work with Engineering Department to troubleshoot and solve technical issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism or Communications preferred. A minimum of 1-year professional experience in local TV news is required. Prior experience as Assistant Director or experience with control room automation is a plus.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of production. Must be well read on current affairs and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects.
