
As Boston and Texas get set to square off in a four-game series, the teams have executed a trade that has sent outfielder Carlos Peguero from the Rangers to the Red Sox. '
Boston has sent cash to Rangers in exchange for the 28 year-old lefty who has made 14 starts for Texas this season.
To make room on the roster, the Red Sox have placed pitcher Anthony Varvaro on the 60-day disabled list.
Peguero is batting .186 this season in 14 appearances, including four doubles, four home runs and nine RBI. He has played 99 career games with Seattle, Kansas City and Texas. He hit 30 home runs for AAA Omaha in 2014.
