Goodell: Kraft's decision for team doesn't impact Brady's appeal

Posted: Updated:
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- At a press conference Wednesday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke about the deflategate punishments handed down to the New England Patriots and Tom Brady.

Goodell said that Robert Kraft's decision not to appeal the team's punishment, announced Tuesday, was Kraft's decision. The commissioner added that he admires and respects Kraft.

The NFL fined the Patriots $1 million and forfeited their first-round draft pick in 2016 and fourth-round draft pick in 2017.

Goodell also added that Kraft's decision not to appeal the team punishment will not impact Tom Brady's appeal. The Patriots quarterback has been suspended for the first four games of the 2015 regular season. Goodell did not address the NFL Players Association call for him to recuse himself from Tom Brady's appeal.

He said he is unsure if a date has been set for the hearing for Brady's appeal.
