Police: Chicopee man used Happy Meal toy bags to hide heroin

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Chicopee man police say used McDonald's Happy Meal toy bags to conceal heroin deliveries has been indicted by a Hampden County grand jury.

Narcotics detectives arrested Giovannie Luna on April 15 after he allegedly attempted to make a drug sale in Springfield. Police seized more than 9,500 packets of heroin in the bust in addition to cash and a loaded .22-caliber handgun recently reported stolen in Westfield.

The Springfield Republican that the 31-year-old Luna was initially due in Springfield District Court before he was indicted and had his case transferred to Superior Court.

Luna is expected to be arraigned in Superior Court next week.
