Colts deflect Deflategate issue

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Indianapolis Colts players did their best Wednesday to toe the company line about the scandal dubbed "Deflategate."

They kept repeating coach Chuck Pagano's mantra about moving on as they deflected question after question. They avoided the word "cheater." They even tried to stay away from the possibility of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady making his season debut in Indy on Oct. 18.

Wednesday marked the first time Colts players had a chance to comment on the penalties given to New England for tampering with footballs in the AFC championship game last season, including Brady's four-game suspension.

Tight end Dwayne Allen, Indy's player representative, says the NFLPA will help with Brady's appeal. But Allen believes whatever decision is made will be "just."
