BOSTON (AP) - A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty to planning to travel to New York for a sexual encounter with what he thought was a teenage girl.
But the 13-year-old teen Scot Trudeau, of Douglas, was scheduled to meet was actually an undercover federal agent.
The 40-year-old Trudeau pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court in Worcester to one count of attempting to travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.
Sentencing was scheduled for August.
Prosecutors say Trudeau from September 2013 to January 2014 communicated with what he thought was a teen through emails, in which he described sexual acts and proposed several times that they meet.
Trudeau was arrested in February 2014.
