(MyFoxBoston.com) -- The NFL is reportedly considering a punishment for Tom Brady, with commissioner Roger Goodell saying he wants to protect the integrity of the game.

FOX25 checked out the precedent for integrity of the game violations, and found that the New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton was banned for a year for the bountygate scandal. Cleveland Browns GM Ray Rarmer was banned four games for text messaging his coaches during a game

The Patriots star quarterback faced the public for the first time since the deflategate report broke after flying by helicopter for a previously scheduled one-on-one at Salem State University on Thursday night.

When asked for his reaction, Tom Brady said it's only been 30 hours and he still hasn't been able to digest it all. Brady said that when he's ready to comment, he'll let the public know.

The audience was very much in his corner, but many across the country are upset with the four-time super bowl winner over deflategate.

Brady was asked whether he cared what people think of him.

"I think as a human you care what people think," he told the audience. "I certainly care what the people that are close to me think and what they care about.  I think also as a public figure you learn that not everyone's gonna like you either.  So good, bad, indifferent, there's a lot of people that don't like Tom Brady and I'm okay with that."
