BOSTON (AP) - The Bruins are in their second round of interviews for their vacant general manager position.
ESPNBoston.com reported current Bruins assistant GM Don Sweeney and former Penguins GM Ray Shero were among the candidates, but Shero was named GM of the New Jersey Devils Monday afternoon.
Sweeney played more than 1000 games for the Bruins between 1988-2003 before ending his playing career with the Dallas Stars in 2004. He took over the role of general manager of the Providence Bruins in 2014 after spending four seasons as the Assistant GM to Peter Chiarelli in Boston.
