SUMMARY: WFXT FOX25 seeks an Executive Producer of Investigative and Special Projects who will oversee producers and reporters working on investigative and special reports. The successful candidate will understand how to research and use investigative tools, including computer databases, to break stories. The Executive Producer of Investigative and Special Projects will be in charge of strategically planning content for sweeps periods while also making sure impactful, relevant stories are produced year-round.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Oversees Special Projects Producers and Reporters

· Plans calendars of stories for each month year-round.

· Works on and approves copy, graphics and all content related to investigative and special reports.

· Works with Promotions on marketing and year-round special project promotions on all platforms.

· Understands how to use computer databases and other investigative tools to break stories.

· Understands how to maximize content on all platforms, including social media.

· Oversees production of special programs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism or Communications preferred. A minimum of 7 years professional experience in local TV news is required for this job as well as at least 3 years' experience in a management role.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism. Must be well read on current affairs and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects.
