OXFORD, Mass. (
MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was arrested after police say he threatened to kill a firefighter on Saturday.
Officials say that firefighters were fighting a brush fire in the woods between Joe Jenny Road and Orchard Hill Drive when 42-year-old Jason West threatened a firefighter just before 3 p.m.
"I will kill you if you don't leave," West allegedly said to the firefighter. "You won't think it's funny when a bullet cracks your helmet."
Firefighters had been evacuating the woods when they said the threat occurred. Police say that West has no known address and lives in the woods.
West allegedly resisted arrest and defaced property while in custody. Police say the suspect throw feces at the security camera and across the entire cell.
West was charged with resisting arrest and property defacement. He was released after posting bail and sent to UMass for evaluation.
The suspect is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday.
