The New England Patriots will visit the White House on Thursday, April 23 to be recognized for their Super Bowl XLIX championship by President Barack Obama.
This will be the Patriots first trip to the White House with Obama in office. Their previous visits were hosted by President George W. Bush.
Since Obama took office, he has shifted the focus of the traditional championship ceremonies to the teams' commitments to their communities. The Patriots are among the league's best at volunteering their time and resources to organizations and fans in the greater Boston market and beyond.
