BOSTON (
MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was arrested for allegedly beating a woman on an MBTA train and exposing himself to a different woman at an MBTA station.
Transit Police officers responded to the MBTA's Chinatown station around 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday after someone reported an assault.
When officers arrived, they say that 25-year-old Anthony Samuel of Dorchester was being restrained on the platform by another passenger.
Witnesses told police that Samuel had been sitting next to the victim on the train when he suddenly began to strike her head and body with a closed fist. Passengers at the scene intervened.
Samuel was arrested and charged with assault and battery on an elderly person. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for head and chest pain.
While at the scene, officers say that another woman approached them and reported that Samuel had exposed his genitals to her at Ruggles Station. Samuel was additionally charged with open and gross lewdness.
Samuel was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
