Convicted felon pulled over for speeding, charged with having a meat cleaver

HOOKSETT, NH (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man pulled over for speeding faces felony charges after police say they found multiple knives, including a meat cleaver, in his car.

Jesse Longden, 29, was pulled over at 1:15 a.m. on Friday morning for speeding.  Police say that when an officer went up to Longden's window, he noticed a large meat cleaver in between the driver and passenger seats.  The officer also found three other knives in Longden's possession.

Longden was convicted in 2012 for domestic assault, making it illegal for him to carry a firearm or deadly weapon. He was arrested and charged with a being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon.

Longden is due in court on May 20. He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail.
