MyFoxBoston.com) -- Federal prosecutors said civil rights charges won't be brought against an officer in the 2010 shooting death of DJ Henry.
Prosecutors said they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Officer Aaron Hess intentionally shot Henry, a 20-year-old college football player from Easton.
FOX25 has followed the case since he was killed in his car while driving away from a disturbance that spilled out of a bar in Pleasantville, New York.
The Department of Justice said it was a split-second decision to prevent possible danger, but Henry's parents believe police purposely misled investigators to protect one of their own.
On Twitter Wednesday morning, DJ's father said they will take sometime to reflect about this decision, but still hope that Hess will admit he was wrong.

The Henry's are still pursuing a civil suit against Officer Hess and the other officers who did not help DJ after he was shot and pulled out of his car.
The Henry's have started a foundation in their son's memory. It's named the DJ Dream Fund and meant to share DJ's love of sports and to provide financial resources to help children and young adults choose healthy lifestyles through sports.
