Police searching for man who allegedly assaulted a child in the supermarket

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police are searching for a suspect in connection to the alleged assault of a child on Wednesday.

Officers responded to the Shaw's Supermarket on Border Street in East Boston just past 8 p.m.

The victim, identified only as a girl under 14-years-old, told police that the suspect approached her and touched her indecently. The suspect was chased out of the store and last seen running along Lexington Street.

The suspect was described by the victim as a white Hispanic man in his 40s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and 175 pounds. Police say the suspect was wearing a blue-colored hat, beige-colored jacket and blue jeans at the time of the incident.
