Amazon rolls out new shopping device, restock items with the push of a button

Posted: Updated:
(MyFoxBoston.com) -- Amazon is trying to revolutionize the way consumers shop with a new gadget that makes ordering every day necessities from its website as easy as pushing a button.

Starting on Wednesday, Amazon will offer it's Prime members a free new shopping device called Amazon Dash. The gadget is a small button registered to different items around the house, such as detergent or diapers. When a shopper needs to stock up on the item, they press the designated Dash button and the item is automatically sent to their Amazon online shopping cart.

Amazon will send a customized button for each item in the house. There's no limit to how many each home can have.

As of Wednesday, more than 250 products from 18 brands are available through the Dash button program.
