MyFoxBoston.com) -- A new study says hockey helmets do not do enough to protect players from concussions.
Researchers at Virginia Tech tested 32 popular brands of hockey helmets, and found that none of those helmets got five or four stars for safety. Just two helmet brands got three stars.
Nine brands got one star, and two of those are the most expensive helmets on the market.
The rest of the brands were given just two stars for safety protection.

Researchers say it means that 25 percent of all helmets, from the NHL all the way down to youth leagues, are unsafe. They also say hockey players wearing those helmets risk getting at least six concussions per season, and in some cases more than eight.
No players at any level should be wearing those helmets, researchers say.
The researchers spent three years and $500,000 studying hockey helmets specifically.
