The key? No sweatpants, or that is what she told "Extra's" AJ Calloway during an interview.
Mendes told Calloway, "You can't do sweatpants...ladies, number one cause of divorce in America, sweatpants, no!"
Ryan Gosling took to his Twitter account to defend his love, saying that it was all a joke, E Online reported.
Joke or note, fans, of course, hit Twitter to voice their disagreement to the original statement. Mendes later apologized in her Instagram account, featuring a photo her own pair of sweats.
