BOSTON (AP) - Lawyers for Bill Cosby have asked a federal judge to throw out a defamation lawsuit filed by three women who accuse the comedian of decades-old sexual offenses.

In legal documents filed Friday, Cosby's lawyers say each woman has failed to identify a claim against the actor for which the courts can grant relief.

Tamara Green, a California lawyer, says Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in the 1970s.

Therese Serignese says Cosby drugged and raped her in 1976. And Linda Traitz alleges he tried to drug her and groped her in 1970.

The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Springfield, not far from Cosby's western Massachusetts home.

Cosby, through his lawyers, has denied the allegations and he has never been charged with a crime.

At least 15 women have publicly accused him of sexual assault.
