BOSTON (
MyFoxBoston.com) -- Mayor Walsh announced the appointment an Interim Commissioner of Veterans' Services in a press release on Friday.
Giselle Sterling, who previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps, said that she was humbled at the opportunity to continue working with her fellow veterans.
“The men and women who have worn the uniform for our country deserve to come back to a community that values their commitment, recognizes their strengths and meets their needs," Sterling added.
Sterling first joined the City as a Community Relations Specialist in March 2012.
Mayor Walsh called Sterling an exceptional leader with a wealth of experience.
