(
MyFoxBoston.com) -- Election day is just over a week away, and two leading Massachusetts gubernatorial candidates have picked up new endorsements.
The Boston Globe says the state is lucky to have two experienced and trustworthy candidates, but that Charlie Baker's health care background and focus on making state government more functional pushes him ahead of Democratic candidate Martha Coakley.
Martha Coakley also received a big endorsement over the weekend from Boston mayor Marty Walsh, who officially announced that he's throwing his support behind Coakley while at a campaign rally in Dorchester on Saturday.
At the rally, Coakley slammed last week's Boston Globe poll showing Charlie Baker with a 9-point-lead over her. Coakley said the paper "always gets it wrong."
